Okay, I'll admit it. I love this series. But there is one thing, just freaking one, that I can't stand. And I thought after the last book that finally the author had done away with it, but noooo. Right as the story ends, Dylan marches back in. No! Blast it! It's either a book with vampires or a book with time travel. And I'm sorry, but I hands down ship Mina/Grayling and it was finally happening! Now we've got a stupid love triangle again on top of time travel. Sigh.

Other than that, I did enjoy it. And I definitely am eager to find out if Evaline's marriage situation was in fact one of the many non-coincidences. Of course, I'm hoping for a Pix/Evaline relationship. Looking forward to the final (boo) book in the series.

Brilliant and you can read without having read the first. I am obsessed with the audible reading of these books by Jayne Entwistle -the best!! Such great feminism and the mystery and twists and turns and every chapter ends with a great cliffhanger!

Unfortunately, after The Chess Queen Enigma was my favorite in the series so far, The Carnelian Crow is probably my least favorite. I don't know what happened but somehow I feel like hardly anything happened in this one. Still, I look forward to finishing the series with book 5.

This is my favorite Stoker and Holmes book yet! Other than that cliffhanger of course. Can't wait for the next one!

The first 260 pages of this book are Flawess (TM). I refuse to comment on the last five because I'm pretending they don't exist.

(More Grayling dances and Pix disguises and Mina and Evaline being BFFs in the next book, pls. This was delightful.)

Excellent

I think this was my favorite in the series so far! Only one more book in the series! I can’t wait for the next one.
