It certainly had some interesting ideas, and it was refreshing to see a woman as The Beast, but it was too damn short! In a slightly longer book, Beast and Beauty could have had some decent chemistry, but here, they don't seem to bond over much except for their mutual love of books. The occasionally awkward dialogue didn't help much either.

I'd love to see more Beauty and the Beast retellings with a female Beast. If anybody knows of any, please me know!

An interesting twist on Beauty and the Beast. Kind of has a Jekyll and Hyde feel added in there as well. I felt this was a fresh, interesting take on paranormal romance - not that there's a ton of romance, but still. Hell, maybe that's why.

Some awkward dialogue and weird phrasing in places, but over all well written. Love the characters and the world that McAbee has crafted here.
