This seems like a quick read, but it has depths and layers. It's very sad. A memoir of being trans and growing up in a difficult family situation. A sadness permeates the book, loves lost, alienated self.

my heart. i was moved. not in a way where i feel i relate except maybe some of the parent stuff but wow. such a topic to explore fitting in by gender weight, this person has gone though so much and come out strong. still a struggle though.
my favorite quote of the book was “maybe my strength isn’t this. it’s in being hurt and still choosing to love”
the part about crushes too was heartbreaking “i never wanted to tell people i had crushes on them. because i didn’t want to embarrass them by knowing someone like me liked them”. ouch. what an awful feeling

L's
Minor: Transphobia
L's graphic novel memoir comprises an anthology of funny, tender, and sometimes downright painful experiences they've suffered throughout the course of their life. I loved L's art style, the way they depict themself as a sort of rag doll (which is something that makes me appreciative for the art's effect but also very sad). This was a good read and an enlightening one, too.
