“doll doll” may be the best poem ever written.

prose poems absolutely dripping in gothic sensibilities and hallucinations. THIS is contemporary poetry
at its best and most sickening.

really into this at first, but too many of the poems/sequences in here read as very similar. many guinea pigs, though, and deer, and internal organs; combining to form some highly uncomfortable and alienating imagery. i am not so familiar with contemporary poetics and so probably don't have a suitable context and really should read it again. that said...that said.
