Just said out loud oh my God it's taken me a month!?

I've read other books by this author and liked them this felt different.

Romance between both is a bit stilted and he sleeps with someone else as a punishment to not sleeping with her it's all a bit ick in my opinion.

I just didn't hate this. But I didn't love it either this feels weird to me. I can't decide if it's a 3 star or 2.

The Exception
The Exception Series, Book 1
By: Adriana Locke
Narrated by: Connor Crais, Samantha Brentmoor

This is the reason I love Adriana Locke. This book is so good, so easy to relate to and just pure enjoyment! Meet Jada. Recently divorced from Decker, her abusive husband, she is now living with her sister Cari. She has captured the attention of the local player, Cane, a friend of Cari's boyfriend. He has no interest in a relationship, but there is something about Jada that intrigues him. Maybe it's the fact that she is not the least bit interested in a relationship. But there is a definite attraction, and she may not be able to resist the charms of this man for long. Will he be able to keep it casual? Both their pasts come to haunt them, and we get to peel away the many layers to both of these characters. Locke gives us a little suspense at times, keeping the story exciting and our hearts invested. It's fantastic and one of my favorite kind of listens!

To make it even better, Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor breathe life into these characters. Understanding each one, giving them the care they deserve and creating their personalities, giving us their feelings and making them real. I loved these two together and loved the performance.

Mr. ALEXANDER, WE FINALLY MEET!

I know it's been forever. I know tons of people who have fallen for the Alexander charm. I just never made time for thw arrogant charisma oozing man. I brushed him off thinking some other time...

Well today was that time and I am proud to say #TeamAlexander. He is nothing I would have picked for her and yet everything she needed. He is definitely the Coach and I would totally tell him "put me in Coach. I'm ready to play, today!"

Batter up and run this field like the pro you are! Also i want to shake Kari so hard for not putting a ring on Max's finger yet! (Sigg. Swoon. I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!!!!)

With tons of baggage and loads of chaos, Jada is not looking for anyone to add to her life, but when alpha male Cane Alexander comes into the picture the spark is instantly there knocking everyone on their back end. With each and every chapter the story works through a maze of back and forth, give and take but in the end the two embark on a romance that will at first make you scream but in the end warms your heart. This was completely entertaining and enjoyable. Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor were cast perfectly.

Cane and Jada’s story was exceptional.
It was suspenseful, sexy, and full of action - there were even a few laughs thrown in.
The romantic, extended epilogue completely melted me. It was beautiful. PERFECTION!
Connor and Samantha did a phenomenal job of narration, it was terrific.

Cane and Jada will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. Jada is looking to start over out of terrible marriage. I love that she still believed in love after the way she had been treated in her past. When she decides to find love again in walks Cane and he is everything Jada is trying to stay away from. I had a love hate relationship with Cane, sometimes I wanted to knock him upside his head and other times he was completely swoony and I love the person he becomes when he is with Jada. This book was different from the others I have read listened to from Adriana and the suspense element had me on the edge of my seat.

I loved the narration from Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais were perfect voices for bringing these characters to life.

This book is beyond ridiculous. Jada is immediately attracted to Cane even though he is an a******. He is controlling, does not take no for an answer, he expects her to do what he says without question and he puts her life in danger and does not bother to explain anything to her. To top it off, he has the nerve to be pissed off when she starts asking questions. She is a lemming with no backbone. The Simon storyline is idiotic and unbelievable. As moronic as the plot and the characters are, they do not hold a candle to the fact that the author does not know how to use a contraction. I have purposefully not used a contraction in this review so that you can see how annoying it is. Imagine reading an entire book like this. I will not be reading the next installment.

I loved this book! A great book with a bit of a mystery. I loved the characters and side characters. The story kept me glued to the pages. I can’t wait to read Kari and Max’s book next
