TW: homophobia from parents

I didn’t like the revenge plot. It just went too far. There was so many chances for Zoey to tell Chelsea and I wish she did.

But I did like the build of Zoey and Chelsea’s relationship and I wish we were able to see them be together for a few chapters instead of only the epilogue.

The authors writing is definitely easy to read and I did enjoy it until I started skimming since I couldn’t care about the revenge trope. This definitely makes me want to pick up Colorblind (finally).

I think I fell in love with Chelsea.

What I love the most about Siera Maley's books is that all of her characters feel authentic and human. No one is perfect, everyone screw up and feel like humans. They are humans.

I loved the love story, I didn't really love the plot itself. But it was worth it, because Chelsea is freaking cute and amazing and I love her.

That's it.

Had to give this five stars strictly because I can’t believe this was the actual lesbian version of John Tucker Must Die like one of my favorite romcoms of all time but gay? Yeah, I’m easy to please honestly. Not to mention, I adored everything about Zoey and Chelsea’s relationship and I actually felt the chemistry and their connection. I also have to say that I haven’t hated a character as much as I hated Skylar in so long oh my god, she was unbearable. Just an all around terrible person and Zoey was too good for her. Other than that, enjoyed this a lot. Right amount of humor, drama, emotional moments, etc. Might check out of more this author’s books soon.

I was a lot excited and a little scared to read this because I’ve been real disappointed with lesfic lately but I didn’t need to worry. Siera Maley delivers! She’s one of my favorite lesfic authors and I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for her new novel and I love it. The build up, the feelings, the characters. I can feel the emotions. I haven’t ever been disappointed with Siera Maley and her writing and I’m (im)patiently waiting for her next book.
My only “problem” with her books is that I wish they were a little longer.

I will admit that I’ve kept checking Maley’s profile in the last years to see when she was publishing a new book. As said, one if my favorite lesfic authors. She never disappoints me

I loved this book. I read it all in 2 days. Zoey's and Chelsea's relationship was really well developed, despite being based on lies, and I enjoyed watching it develop despite knowing it was going to all blow up in their faces at the end.

Skylar is horrible, btw. I'm glad Zoey ditched her at the end. I hated everytime Cole was on the page as well.

I'm also so happy Zoey and Chelsea communicated openly, and they gave themselves another shot! Yes!

The whole subplot with Zoey's homophobic parents was difficult to read, but I think it was handled well. I'm glad her dad made an effort with her. Ngl I almost teared up when she was kicked out and Chelsea took her to her house and Chelsea's mum was crying and said she could stay as long as she wanted. Sorry about my language, but parents are supposed to love their kids unconditionally, so fuck those who make their kids feel worthless because they don't match whatever image they have of their child in their heads.

I really enjoyed this book. Definitely recommend it!
