I read this in a couple of hours. I loved the big family setting and the Mexican culture with the mariachi band completion. Although I felt the rivalry was kind of petty between the two older men. I also thought the romance was a little insta lovey and not enough development except from stolen conversations and admiration for the other (physically.) I also want more Latinx authors to cease adding random Spanish words mixed with English for little to no reason. Either have your characters speak full Spanish with translation offered or not at all. I feel like the authors are trying to cater to non Spanish speakers especially when they offer an immediate translation. Totally not needed :/ This was a little spicy but the sex happened off page

An exciting and refreshing take on a Latine classic, West Side Love Story combines everything I love about a rivals to lovers romance book. The mutual pining and sense of hopelessness that can lead to some pretty thoughtless decisions that make for the best drama. Mariana and Angelo delivered beautiful chemistry with just the right amount of angst. The stakes were believable and so so relatable that you were rooting for everyone involved, but especially our main couple.

The cast of side characters were so fun and I CANNOT wait for Catalina’s book. I also loved the exploration of growing up in the foster system and the sense of belonging that Casa Capuleta offered to their girls. It’s not an overly explored side of the system that we view in pop culture and I really enjoyed it.

Priscilla did it again and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series!

Thank you Amazon Publishing and Priscilla for my advanced copy!

Such a sweet and lovely take on this love story. I also really appreciated that the English followed the Spanish and it was nicely (ha) done. The narrator was fabulous.

This book was so cute!! I don't usually like Romeo and Juliet Retellings, but this one was written so well that I fell in love. The fact that Angelo was constantly there for Mariana, telling her that he was there if she needs someone, just made his character ten times better. I'm not gonna lie though the Texan references kept throwing me off (and I am from Texas.. they just felt really cheesy). Overall, this was a great book. :)
