As far as early readers go, I like this series. Kate and Cocoa are good together and loved the addition of Peppermint.

A cute story - especially for little girls who like horses.

Another Cowgirl Kate and Cocoa. My daughter wasn't thrilled by it, but she did like the pictures. I personally don't find Cocoa's grouchiness endearing but it would be a great book for a lesson on inferring character emotions for my 2nd grade transitional readers.
