Woah, what a journey this books put me through! As someone who has a chronic illness since their childhood some stories resonated with me to a degree that I have never previously experienced when reading another book (be it non-fiction or fiction). It made me reflect on my own condition and the diversity within the disabled community. Some stories were poignant, others informative and inspiring, but all expanded on the definition (and experience) of what it means to be disabled and being beyond or beside that. However, I do think that it’s a shame that the book is mostly USA centric (yes, there is some mention about Asia, but not nearly enough). It would be great if perhaps authors from different countries were included too (I highly doubt that there is a lack of disabled authors in other parts of the world). But otherwise, an intriguing and provocative read for anyone (abled, non-abled, queer, etc).

Alt i alt absolut fantastisk!
