It’s sad, it’s hopeful, it’s wonderful, it will stay with me for a long time. It might be a 5* read, but I’m not sure… maybe after a second read it will be.

I haven’t read a book that I’ve had so many tears fall but also not been mad about it...

Not bad, but just a lot of YA miscommunication for my developed adult brain. 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

Howling Books is a little bookstore filled with love letters, thoughts and memories. Henry is the bookstore's owners son and he was best friends with Rachel. Until one day, three years ago, the end of the world happened and their friendship was ruined; Rachel left the next day and things never got better between them. Now, Rachel is back after the death of her brother Cal, and she's a shell of what she used to be. She still has some recentment towards Henry but he doesn't know why. The bookstore is now in jeopardy and Rachel is being tasked with archiving the memories from those books filled with notes and love.
I was liking it so much at the beginning but I never got to understand how Henry realized he was in love with Rachel the whole time. I'm not usually too fond of dramaticism, but I was missing some of it in the climax....

I have mixed thoughts on this one. There were some cute moments and some great quotes, and I loved the bookstore setting and the Letter Library. But, at the same time, it took me a while to get into this book, and at times it as a struggle to get through it.

Also, I was expecting this to be more of a rom-com, but it wasn’t. It was also more emotional than I expected, but at the same time I didn’t feel emotionally invested, if that makes sense.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad book, and the writing was really beautiful at times. I just don’t think it was the book for me.
