2.5/3⭐️closer to 3 stars- there was nothing really wrong with this book- I just did not enjoy it at all- I didn’t connect to the characters and i didn’t find the romance between lowe and misery real at all- it felt insta lovey- no real reason they fell in love with each other besides “fate” - the dad was a true psycho but idk this whole book fell flat for me :(

ETA- this may have been a huge let down for me because I was sure this would be a 5⭐️ and I read this book right after finishing Kingdom of Ash- so possibly those things combined made it worse for me?

<I>"This marriage is going to be a problem. She is going to be a problem."</I>

I know there were a lot of mixed reviews flying about regarding Bride, but let me tell you I absolutely loved this book.

It didn't feel like the regular fated mates vibe, and I liked that we were thrown into the story from the first page. Given that this is the first book I've ever read by Ali Hazelwood, it honestly had me laughing at multiple points, it had a level of found family vibes that also gave a certain warmth to the whole story. I actually feel like this is one of those books that felt like the first book of the series even though it's advertised as a standalone (like????? I would read ANOTHER of this, please give me the Serena tale we all want!!) This isn't your standard Werewolf x Vampire book either, there are little twists in it that I do think were done really well.

Listen, the knowing thing I do have some...it had me feeling some kinda way ok? I have a lot of thoughts about how it flung me back into early fan fiction days It did give me a laugh.
