About pasta and justice! Being treated unfairly by the Kangaroos they start a pasta revolution.

actual rating 3.5 only because it is a bit long for a picture book. but what a fun way to talk about social justice issues and now i really want pasta.

The life lessons in this book. It is huge, it is so very obvious, and it was rather annoying to me even. I am usually very fond of books with a "message", but this message was a bit too much for me.

The kids enjoyed though, so I am giving it a couple of stars for that.

Edie says five stars. She got the real world connections. I don’t know about the ending.

I don't understand the complaints that it is too long. As compared to picture books from 10-20 years ago this would be considered a short story. Perfect for one-on-one reading. The illustrations made me lol multiple times and I love turning things into pasta.

"When laws are so unjust
Misbehavior is a must!
Together we will make new rules
To share along with fresh noodles!"

Wish they didnt share with the kangaroos at the end though tbh.

(Also some of the profits go to Black and Pink!)

I love the pasta language and I'm on board with the revolution, but the power of the allegory seems to stumble a little bit when we get to the Phantastic Noodler...
