Not an overly complicated premise but not stupidly simple, a good balance that keeps you engaged throughout. Matt Haig builds a very real protagonist, allowing you to easily follow along with her journey and feel her struggles as she discovers what's worthwhile about living (and what doesnt matter that much). Easy to follow and not confusing, enjoyable read, and satisfying ending.

This is a simplistic story about gaining some perspective. A more nuanced handling of suicidal depression would've been more powerful. I can see how people would feel like this book diminishes their experiences with depression. If the story is going to be less about depression/suicide and more a commentary on perspective, happiness, etc., then the main character could've just been walking around questioning her life choices and then gotten hit by a bus or something.
