The Final Score isn't the end of the series, not sure why, but the title made me think it was. So rest easy more Play By Play will happen...

Mia and her longtime friend Riley succumb to the age old trial "will sex ruin our friendship?" from friends to benefits included, these two are walking a thread. No, not a line-a thread. A fraying over extended thread leaving them in a precarious situation.

The Final Score is a sweet friends to lovers to..ha. You thought I would blab. (Shaking my head) It's fraught with doubt, fear, and all sorts of unnerving feelings. Too bad you didn't start it yet. It's got just enough sigh inducing sweetness and dirty talking, filthy fun to keep you highly motivated and flipping pages.

The Final Score by Jaci Burton is a friends to lovers kind of story so…needless to say, I’m in! You must know by now that I can’t stay away from this theme. I just love it. I could read 100+ books with the same theme and still want more. This is my first book by this author and I’m really glad I got to read her work.

♥ The story ♥

Nathan and Mia have been best friends for years. Today, they need each other more than ever as they’re facing stressful life changes. Nathan is taking his father’s place as quarterback for his former team and has a lot of pressure as everyone expects him to live up to his father’s reputation. And Mia is starting her own sports management company. They both need stress relief but more importantly they need each other’s support. Throw in that they try to resist each other in order not to ruin their friendship and we’re in for a lot of sexual tension and hot talks.

When I started this book I found some flaws I thought would put me off this book. I thought the story was interesting but sometimes the scenes were dragged. Also, the dialogues felt quite unnatural at times. But I felt this way only for the 10 first pages. After that, it changed totally. In a good way.

The Final Score is a best-friends-to-lovers, sports romance kind of story. Two themes I absolutely love so it was almost impossible for me not to enjoy this read. Nathan and Mia have an amazing relationship. They trust each other in a way you can only admire and I loved how blunt and honest they were with each other. You could feel how deeply they cared for each other through the writing and that’s an exceptional job.

There wasn’t unnecessary drama about their relationship. The intrigue was something else and it made things so much more beautiful. I really liked this original approach. Also, if you like big loving families gathering, this series is for you!

All in all, it was still a light, enjoyable and sexy read. I definitely recommend for lovers of sports romance.

Took me a while because I was in a funk, but I really did love these characters, their dynamic, and seeing their families interact. Should read again when my brain is clear.

Pretty predictable sports romance. Friends to lovers. I was looking forward to reading about a grown up Nate. This book was okay but very familiar. I enjoyed catching up on the other people from past books.

I stepped away from this series a while ago, but when I saw the main character was Mick and Tara's son, I had to pick it up. Unfortunately, Nathan and Mia's story couldn't stand up to his father and uncle's (Gavin) book.
