It started out VERY slow, but as soon as it got going it was great. In fact, when I was in Rome I was looking for a lot of the sites from this book. I am interested to see what the movie will do with it since they weren't too successful with The DaVinci Code.

Listen… Danny got me good. I love a twist and I love a turn. No character development and no women - pure cliff hangers, adrenaline, and crazy Catholics. Hysterical fun read

I’m still trying to decide, but I think I liked this novel better than The DaVinci Code. There are so many twists and turns and so many times I though I had it figured out, only to learn that there was yet another twist. I was sad about the final discovery, but I certainly enjoyed the exciting journey to get that point. There were a few things that were a little over the top, but maybe that was the intent to make it movie-worthy. Dan Brown is a very good storyteller. I can see why many religious people do not like him, but if you remember that it’s fiction twisted in with real life places and things and allow yourself to just enjoy the stories he weaves, he really is a very talented writer that makes you want to keep reading. I’ve only read two of his novels so far, but The Lost Symbol is sitting nearby just waiting to be read. He has me hooked on reading about symbols, ancient brotherhoods, and science vs. religion. Without giving anything away, I enjoyed the theme of science and religion working together. It’s not something that happens often in real life, but it certainly made for an exciting story. This one deserves more than five stars, even though my special illustrated version is 3 lbs 10 oz and was a struggle to hold up while I read it.

This book was just as enjoyable as The Da Vinci Code, if not more. It had all the science, twists, turns, suspense, and art that one would expect from a Dan Brown novel. It held me focus until the end and I was surprised how much I liked it.

I saw the movie years ago, so I found myself and times going “wait wasn’t this supposed to happen?” or “when is this going to happen?” But, even knowing the plot twist at the end, I still enjoyed this book quite a bit! As with every book-to-movie adaptation in the history of ever, the book lent so much more detail that just increased the intrigue and mystery. However, it definitely could have been about 200 pages shorter imo 🥴
