Although the book was very entertaining, there were moments that frustrated me. Time sometimes passed more slowly, sometimes more quickly. I have no idea how long a minute or an hour is in Mr. Brown's book; in any case, it's not comparable to our atomic clocks. Vittoria's portrayal was sometimes really questionable; at times, Dan thinks his readers are stupid, and the ending is ... How did he survive? The guy must be dead. I thought I'd landed in a fantasy novel. Dan, are you telling me a person can survive a fall from that height? Are you serious?
Rating: 3.25 stars
This book was really slow to start, it honestly didn't start to pick up until around the half-way mark. I know that for this type of book, a lot of exposition needs to be done but by George was it a lot. Not to mention, I'm just not a huge fan of the formulaic "Something happens. One character asks what it means. The expert explains. They solve it." Rinse, repeat. I know that Dan Brown is a very celebrated author and I did appreciate the overall mystery. But the ending..... that last chapter should have been left on the cutting room floor.
