Audible Escape. Parts of this are really, really good and parts not so much. There was a lot of emotion and I enjoyed much of Edward and Lenora’s story. But there were also phrases and conversations and things that felt out of the “time frame” of the 50’s where most of this is set (eg: The phrase “$h!t show” didn’t exist until the 70s) . The first part drags and takes a while to get going. There’s several other lulls that feel awkward.

The books keep getting shorter and this is the shortest ~ perhaps that’s why it’s a bit clunky.

Royally Yours is an addition to the Royally trilogy about the parents. Sometimes these types of prequel novels are hit and miss, but this one was a hit!

Lenora was such a strong character. Royal romances generally involve the male as the royal (minus this series), but for this one Lenora was the queen and Edward is just a nobleman, so we got to see Lenora in a leader mode as she is always standing up for what she wants; fighting the council for what she wants to happen. She was so fun to read about.

Edward was a really romantic adventurer. He grounded Lenora when she needed to be and helped her rise up in the other times. The romance between these two are really beautiful. Edward has such an understanding of what Lenora needed from him and what he had to be for her that they complimented each other throughout the whole time. Even though they agreed to marry each other for political reasons, watching them fall in love was so cute.

It was such a great read and if Emma Chase decided to add another book to the series I would be all in for that.

This is definitely a perfect conclusion to this amazing series. I just love this one so much and it kind of brings all the other books together. Lenora is one character I was really interested in and the fact that we get to go back in time to see how she become queen and falls in love with Edward is just so beautiful.

Royally Yours radiates a classic romance charm that first drew me to the genre. The story is wonderfully tender, passionate, and whimsical, with a nice balance between fairy tale and realism. In other words, Emma Chase has another hit on her hands.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Fortunately, Queen Lenora was raised to have a spine of steel. She is an independent young woman—decisive, fearless, and stubborn. Being a queen is a lonely job, and very few people get to witness her huge heart. Lonely or not, she isn’t keen to be forced into marriage.

Edward is known for his wanderlust, and a settling down into a marriage of convenience isn’t exactly at the top of his priority list either. Nonetheless, they try to make the best out of an extremely awkward situation. I did not see that coming! I expected lots of bickering, tantrums, and overall pettiness. Imagine two adults dealing with adversity like, well, adults. It was refreshing to not have a massive clash of personalities. The conflicts that arise are plot driven and they are so expertly used that I was completely engaged throughout the story.

Perhaps Lenora is a bit too quick to trust Edward, and his view of Lenora as an obligation switches rather rapidly to one of genuine interest. It’s quite plausible, however, given the way the plot is structured. I enjoyed their openness, warmth, and “love lessons”. There’s a sense of mutual respect between the two of them. I absolutely adored Edward and how protective and supportive he is of Lenora. There’s no machismo. He’s secure enough to be perfectly content to stand in Lenora’s shadow and let her shine.

Bathed in love and compassion from beginning to end, Royally Yours is simply delightful.
