Grace Harper is a hopeless romantic who thinks she's found her happily ever after, only to discover that her girlfriend of four years has been cheating on her for the past six months. Needing to get away, she moves out to Philly to stay with her childhood best friend Leah. What she didn't expect was Leah's roommate, Kinsley Scott, who just happens to be Grace's favorite romance writer. But what Grace soon learns is that Kinsley is no hopeless romantic. In fact, she's closed off and crude and anything but what Grace wants in a partner. So why can't she stop the attraction forming between them?
This was a fun read! It was engaging most of the way, and the heroines were really cute together.
I think I'm getting the hang of Erica Lee's books. A lot of action leading up to the MCs getting together in the first half of the book, then some happy times together, then a conflict, then resolution + HEA. I do have to say that I tend to get bored during the first period of happy times, but then I'm interested again after the conflict pops up.
I can't say that I fell in love with the MCs. That didn't stop me from rooting for and appreciating their HEA though. Kinsley was the typical douche as a result of a previous heartbreak, and Grace was a bit too timid for my liking. They still worked together though, and there was actually a nice bit of angst thrown in.
Would recommend for an enjoyable read.

A Good Read
Book was longer than I thought, which was a pleasant surprise. Enjoyed getting to know the main characters. Decent plot even if overdone in romance novels.
Think I might browse through the author’s books to see if another one sparks my interest!

I was really excited for this one, considering it contains my favorite trope in enemies-to-lovers, but it just had really poor execution. Grace's ex shows up, and she actually considers a life with her, despite us never ever seeing what she really got out of that relationship. Just a lot of telling and not showing. And then there was the team up with Grace and Kinsey's moms... along with the trope of miscommunication... a lot of promise that just fell flat.
