A very fun read with interesting changes from the original. I really enjoyed reading it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick fun read. The only thing I didn't like was the chat room thing. It was just a little weird to have in it. It was fun seeing these other fairy tale characters, but it just seemed really out of place.

Maybe it's not that great to read a book from a guy's perspective after all... even if it's written by a woman. Cringe fest. The only reason this is 1.5/2 stars is because I remember really liking the 2011 movie for which I solely blame my then obsession with Alex Pettyfer (or the fact that I was 16 and didn't knew better) 😂🤭

I can't believe that I'm saying this, but i think (based on the trailer) that the movie is going to be better. For a retelling, it followed the original too well. I kept waiting for new devices for the familiar twists in the story. There were a few, but not enough. The prose wasn't lyrical in any way and even with that, it didn't completely sound like a guy's voice. There was a lot of telling, instead of showing, which made me wonder if it should have been a middle grade book instead of YA.

I just wanted more.

I loved the movie, so I picked up the book. I think I loved the book more than the movie. It was a quick read, it only took two days to read. At first I thought I would dislike it because of the chat room format at the beginning, but I grew used of it.

I decided to pick this up because I remember that I had seen the movie. I didn't hate this book or anything, it just wasn't my favorite. It had some good moments, but some areas felt like they were going on forever.

This one has been on my TBR for awhile and I was finally able to get to it. I enjoyed how closely it followed along to the (Disney) version of Beauty and the Beast, while still having a modern take on it. This was a quick read that I couldn't put down. This is one I should have read way before seeing the movie. I liked how he was a true beast and loved how he was able to overcome his hardships and be a better person in the end.
