Scarlet and Wolf are adorable. I hope Cinder saves Kai and they get married.

I am absolutely LOVING this series. I absolutely adore the way Meyer integrates all of this fairytale characters in an inventive and modern way, stylising them so that they reflect the original character but adjusting them so that they fit into the world of the Lunar chronicles. However, as I'm discovering, after having finished "Cress" by the time I've written this review, I'm finding that in "Scarlet", I was more interested reading about Cinder, and in "Cress", I was more interested reading about Cinder and Scarlet rather than Cress. If the same level of thinking is to be true of "Winter", I'm sure I'll be reading about Cinder, Scarlet and Cress more than I care to be reading about Winter.

If you haven't read this series yet... I really recommend it. It began with Cinder and now continues in book two with Scarlet. It's a twist off the old red riding hood tale and is filled with fantasy, adventure, and an intriguing story line. My main complaint is that I have to wait until 2014 for book three.

I'm unfamiliar with fairy tales most children grew up with. This series is a fun way to introduce myself to them! I have to say I was well over halfway through this book until I realized it was introducing a new fairy tale and overlapping it with the previous book's Cinderella story. Once I figured it out, it was blatantly obvious!

Some of the sarcasm and overly witty dialogue could be a bit annoying, but overall, I really enjoyed it.

Review based on the audio version.

i really liked scarlets character but i really disliked wolf. it was better than cinder but still not amazing i liked the cinder/thorne parts also these annoyed me:
1. why does nobody make the connection between cinder and the moon princess that what do you know is the same age!
2. scarlet didnt realize that it was NOT her grandmother like quiz her! ask for your favorite color! actually that would be too obvious...either way. and the SECOND TIME WHEN SHE HAD BEEN TRICKED BEFORE she STILL didnt question her! like COME ON!
3. scarlet didnt think that hey maybe these wolfy things ARENT HUMAN! i know she didnt have the background knowledge of the picture thing but still!
stillllll i read this really quickly and it was overall pretty good. scarlet saved it.
