Chloe is on a quest to live her life again after having a few years derailed by her chronic illness. She finally moves into her own apartment and at first, has a tenuous relationship with her building’s superintendent, Red. When they strike up a deal to barter services with each other, they end up building quite the relationship as well.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (might go up to a 5 if I’m still thinking about this one in a few weeks)

Definitely a solid 3 stars for me. Things I loved: the positive representation of a character living with chronic pain/disability. I also loved that Chloe was plus sized but her size was never referenced in a way that teased her or made her seem less than. We need more of that in books - it was refreshing to read!

Things I didn’t love: Honestly, I get that this is supposed to be a “steamy” book, but some parts were written in a way that was honestly uncomfortable and with an absence of natural flow. I wish there was a little more build up with character backstory instead of focusing so much on the steamy parts. Although having a main character with fibromyalgia was refreshing, Chloe’s personality was annoying and I found myself rolling my eyes more often than not.

redford is adorable, genuinely. love the disabled representation and although she was plus sized, she still felt sexy. i think they’re cute together but thought the climax towards the end wasn’t quite written up to my standard. i think that the break up last minute and then force them back together for the ending is weird and there was barely any plot.

I enjoyed the book about Chloe's sister Dani slightly more because I related a bit more to Dani's personality but I love the diversity & inclusion present in Hibbert's characters. Chloe has fibromyalgia and of course that doesn't stop her from finding love. I laughed out loud at parts and of course there are steamy parts. I also was very invested in the relationship. Excited to read the third book in the series!
