Fun easy read. I hate when things are left hanging, but I guess the writer does that on purpose so you'll read the next one.

This book was surprisingly good. I bought it when I went on my crazy 99-cent Kindle shopping spree, and it was recommended to me because of my obsession with paranormal romance books. I do have to say, though, the middle of the book with the odd love interest thing and star-crossed lovers shit was a little overdone. This book was much more enjoyable when we were learning about the protagonist's "condition" and what that would mean for her, the action was great, and, oh god, the ending was so so so so perfect and unexpected and I'm definitely going to have to read the next book in the series because it just left me with feelings. Anyway, if you like quick reads and books that are a little predictable and fun and about paranormal stuff, this is one to check out.

While I found it very slow-going in the beginning, it was intriguing enough to keep me reading. The concept of a vampire/werewolf is really different and I enjoyed that. The action did pick up, but then it ended so abruptly. I didn't feel the chemistry between the main characters, just because they didn't spend all that much time together.

I have been waiting forever for my library to get this book for digital download and I was so excited to read it.. And I was not disappointed! It was so so good! But before I went and purchased the 2nd book I was doing some research and I guess she just decided not to write the 3rd book.. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong. But I can't find it. So not only am I absolutely not going to buy the second book but I'm pissed I read this one and got emotionally attached to the characters now that there is no conclusion for them!

So from the last death in the book onward I was crying my eyes out. Which was awkward for the people in Starbucks.
Love this story, I have absolutely no idea how they're going to get out of this or how Alex hasn't tried to kill herself by now.
Nathan says some shit and has an attitude he shouldn't be forgiven for so easily but I'm not complaining really. The ending was so good. I was so happy but heartbroken at the same time.
I hope the second book has more Nathan's POVs, that was the best.
My favorite, unexpected bit: When and how Nathan tells her he loves her. I was like "AWWWWWWW SHIT".

There were a couple scenes where I laughed, but overall, this was an awful story. I have loved Towle’s other books, like [b:The Mighty Storm|15724654|The Mighty Storm (The Storm, #1)|Samantha Towle|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1345793260l/15724654._SX50_.jpg|21400430], but this read like a first draft of her first novel. (maybe it was)

If you like a wimpy damsel in distress, this is your book. The h did nothing to help herself or the situation she was in. The back and forth inside her head was exhausting.

The H was a decent character, a complete grump with a heart of gold.

The ending made zero sense. What was with that strangely rushed intimate scene and the out-of-the-blue love declarations? I have no desire to trudge through book two.

What Alexandra Jones needed was a night out with her best friend wallowing over her recent breakup with her cheating ex-boyfriend. Although the evening was meant to escape the hurt she was feeling, no one would have ever predicted the way it ended. A simple act of throwing her phone in the bushes has Alex getting attacked and her friend murdered.

When Alex wakes up to find her surly rescuer watching her with guarded interest, she has no clue what happened. Finding out she is a Varcolac has her wondering if he is crazy, until he explains she is an extremely rare vampire-shifter breed and the only one to survive such an attack, making her the target for a new breed of Varcolac if they catch her.

I was fascinated by this story, you don't know how her rescuer Nathan feels about her he is tough to read. His family of shifters takes her in even though she is normally the enemy and try to help her with adapting to her new life, but it would be too easy to have everything work perfect leaving for a suspense filled read that makes you want to pick up the next book in the series right away.

I read this book in a few hours. I only stopped to eat which means that it is an intruiging book that I can't stop reading. I then downloaded the next one to see what happens next. I think that Alex would be thinking what everyone would be thinking in her position. I know that it is something that I can't wait for others to read so I can talk to them about this book.
