Excellent introduction to the old monastic practice of Lectio Divina (Sporitual Reading). Although Foster is himself a Benedictine monk, his book is aimed at ordinary people who want to learn to read the Bible in a different way. Lectio Divina is not Bible study; it is slow, meditative reading, with an expectation that we can hear God speaking through the text as we read.
