Sisterhood and love <333

I’ve loved Nesta since the start. I love it when characters are flawed and human but have character growth and awareness. This book gave her a redemption arc that she eventually fought for herself.
I didn’t have much of an opinion on Cassian before this book but wow I’m in love.
And I love Cassian and Nesta together, they’re just so hot. I felt like Sarah finally had the influence to just write whatever she wanted and she didn’t hold back on the spice and I’m so grateful she didn’t.
I thought Morrigan in this book was annoying, whilst I loved her before she gave very strong girl best friend vibes.
The endings are always so strong and this was no exception.
That ending was beautiful and heartbreaking. And when Nesta told Cassian about the changes to her body for carrying his child in the future.
And when he told her he knew they had been mates from the start, I just melted.
This is the best acotar book for someone who found Feyre and Rhys a bit boring.

SO. I actually really liked this book. It was a slow start getting into it but I do feel that this portrayed a realistic journey for Nesta. She may have been a bitch in all the previous books up until this point, but she was also such a badass that I wanted to root for her. Her mom was a horrible influence on her, and I get the impression her dad didn’t really do much to curb the grooming her mom did, so in a way it made sense that she turned out the way she did. The bitch on the outside but experiencing utter turmoil, regret, self-hatred, and depression on the inside was reeeeeally well written.

I also like that Nesta made friends! Gwyn and Emerie seem like characters I’d actually want to be friends with myself!

As for Cassian.. he was written to be too good to be true? I wish that Cassian fought off Nesta’s attitude more because she really was awful. While I get that they’re mates (because of course), he just kept taking her BS. Yes that contributes to the whole “I don’t deserve you” comment, but I would’ve liked to have seen more effort from Nesta. I was waiting for a scene when she WOULD go to Cassian’s bed that never happened.

This book reeeeeally turned up the spice. Nesta’s a kinky girl! Good for her lol

I wasn’t aware that this isn’t a finished series. Understanding that put things into perspective why book 3 had such a happy ending. I’m happy to have had more time with the characters and look forward to seeing more of the Valkyries.

I’m glad Mor was absent for most of this book. I think that Maas needed to step away from her after pulling a very poorly written gay card in the previous book. With Emerie in the picture, I’m hoping she’s come up with a well thought out plan for the two of them.

And!! Finally Nesta acts like family!!! I’m a fan.

The way that things keep clicking into place throughout this series is incredible. There are parts where the action sort of fizzles, and it takes me a minute to pick it back up. But it’s worth it for the world to keep building into this grand master scheme. I love it!

disappointing conclusion with too many loose ends - I want another installment. The character development of Nesta's friends was satisfying and I loved Gwyn.

Okay okay, let’s do this! This took me three weeks to finish, when the first ones I read in two or three days. The reason for that is that is so freaking long, for absolutely no reason, this could easily be put in 300 or 400 pages, half of the book isn’t even relevant for the history, just a bunch of training and lots and lots of sex, like usually I don’t mind it, but c’mon there is way too much. I also feel like Sarah try to put way too many plots in this book, The enemies to lovers, the hunger games, the prom and prince thing, the three magic objects…. Girl, just choose one or two, not a million. This could be a 5 star, instead I would give it a 2.5 for all the unnecessary things.
