easily the best book of the series. the others felt kinda meh :/ but i am so glad i held out for this one. this audiobook was especially good because the narrator was amazing. nesta they could never make me hate you. if you hate nesta you just hate complex female characters tbh

I’m not even sure what to say about this book. I started my entire re-read of ACOTAR for the one reason of being able to read this book and remember what was going on. I found myself through the other books growing bored of Feyre’s story, and I knew I would love Nestas- and I did. I loved how she learned that she was worthy of love and worthy of everything she wished for in life. I adored Gwyn and Emerie, and I know I’ll be watching out for them in later books. I’m glad that SJM added them in because it shows that recovery and learning to live yourself can’t come just through a romantic relationship, you need other people around you as well. Going off of that, I appreciated the focus the book had on side characters, like Elain and Lucien and Eris- I hope we learn more about Eris in the future cause he’s so fascinating to me!!

I have been holding on to hope for Nesta for 3.1 books and finally got the payoff in ACOSF! She was so damn stubborn for so long and her mental gymnastics was so frustrating to read. But I always knew that deep down she was just full of all the pain she pushed down and down her whole life.
I cannot even really put into words how much her journey in this book meant to me. Her found family with Gwyn and Emerie, the other priestesses who joined the Valkyrie training - I have never been so empowered and inspired to find my own strength and power. The last few chapters had me cheering for them, crying with them, and loving every second!!

SJM really turned up the 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ in this book!!
I'm starting to think Rhys lied to Feyre about the whole wingspan thing 👀

Cassian is everything. I loved the relationship building, everything felt so true to their characters and built naturally. I do feel like it was a bit excessive at times, but it mostly made sense for Nesta's arc and growth.

I could have done without the pregnancy storyline tbh. I didn't feel like it added to the story, Rhys became overbearing and overprotective in a way that felt out of character for him, and I didn't like that he was always preaching that Feyre had a choice in everything, but then decided to just not tell her about the risks of her pregnancy so she could have control over her own body.   I also didn't really like them dealing with yet another close call with death, like, once was fine but 3 times now is excessive. I wish too that Nesta was able to keep her power, but I understand why they got taken away (the sacrifice for the people she loved, the wrapping up of the issue of people wanting to use her as a weapon, her own fears of being out of control with it etc) I just feel like she was nerfed as soon as she found her power.
Also feel a little disappointed she didn't get to the top of Ramiel as well, that would have been icing on the cake, though I know it meant a whole lot more for Emerie and Gwyn to get there together!

So looking forward to the next book! It cannot come out fast enough!

I know it's rumored to be Elain focused, but I really hope we get focus on Azriel and Mor as well! I am all in for a Mor/Emerie storyline!

This is the best one of the series. While I’ve enjoyed all the other books immensely (except the first one cause UGH) this one holds a special place. To center on healing and allowing yourself to believe you are worthy is a strong choice in the midst of chaos and potential war. To let yourself find your family when you believe you’re not worth one, is the hardest choice to make. Because it means choosing to stay and fight.
