The pacing of this book left so much to be desired. At one point about halfway in it felt like I had finished one book and started a second. While there were certainly parts that I really enjoyed, I think the boom suffered from wanting to be too many things.

I think that this was a masterful craft of different mythology to create a new story. I wish there was more development of Gáspár’s character and more chemistry between him and Évike. But I did enjoy her as a main character and seeing her change and develop throughout the story.

After reading and loving Juniper and Thorn I knew I needed to read more from Ava Reid and I can't get enough of her writing. I simply demolished this book. I loved the prose, the story, the characters, the world, the magic, the YEARNING!!! Another 5 star fairytale, I can't wait to read more from her.
