Although set in the Regency period, the writing style has a more modern feel. I had a difficult time getting interested in this story. The story line was interesting about whether or not Virginia was a spy, but it was overplayed and there was too much repetition about spying and her loss of and regain of her memory. It got more interesting toward the end as she was heading off to visit her uncle.
