I meeeeaaan. Yeah. Nobody is writing like Hanif. And to once again listen to a book by him, READ by him it is such a treat. You can really hear the poetry and the feeling and the care. I don’t really relate to music in the way he does at all but nevertheless enjoyed living through his eyes for the span of this book and hearing his reflections on music and performances and also Carly Rae Jepson in two different essays! Nice.

It’s a beautiful collection of essays. My music listening experience is truly transformed. There are layered discussions of grief and how it shapes us, love and how it finds its way to us only to leave again, how home changes over time, and so much more. I truly enjoyed every moment of this experience

Did I cry like 20 times reading this? Maybe. Essays on Carly Rae Jepsen and Fall Out Boy will wreck you apparently.

A masterpiece that’s relevance is paramount in today’s political climate. Incredibly moving.
