I cannot even figure out how to classify this book. Is it horror? Suspense? Mystery? All I know is it messed with my head from beginning to end. I had no idea where the story was going pretty much until the last page...and even then I’m not 100% sure. Loved it.

An intriguing book that reminded me of Syndrome E by Franck Thiellez. Could have been about hundred pages shorter (people who have read it will know which 100 I am talking about). Overall an interesting book with a good concept of imagery used well throughout the text. Would have been 5 stars with more images and losing those 100 pages.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. It should be a cult classic, in the same vein as The House Of Leaves, and if you enjoyed that, then you'll enjoy this. Blurring the lines of reality and fiction, of truth and myth, I bloody loved it. Kept me hooked for all 600 pages. I even bought 2 editions because when I started reading the paperback (which looks awful, like a mass-market crime novel, which it isn't) I realised I loved it and needed it in a better format. The hardback is gorgeous if you take the dust cover off. Anyway, 5 stars. Go get it, but please, in these troubled times, buy it from Waterstones and not Amazon.

literally one of the best books i’ve ever read and EASILY became a 5 ⭐️ and then it proceeded to have the most disappointing ending i’ve read in a book. still haven’t recovered 💔
