I was really excited to read this book because I love Michael Crichton, but now I have very mixed feelings about it. Despite its length, it was a pretty quick read and with lots of action.
but sometimes too much action, I can't count how many times the main characters almost got killed in the book but barely survived.
One thing I love about Crichton is how researched his books are, and this one was jam-packed with lots of anti-global warming sources. I know this book was written in the early 2000s but I felt like I was being brainwashed to join a side I strongly disagree with. Also, his depictions of indigenous people were stereotypical and offensive. While I am sure he researched tribes thoroughly before writing about them, their depictions were savagery and barbaric.
