I loved Little House and my little brother liked Katy and Mike Milligan. It was fun to "meet" the author.

John Rocco's illustrations were AMAZING! He tied in Burton's style with his own so seamlessly and creatively! It was a delight to read this book and feel like those classic stories were coming to life right in front of your eyes.

I think the author and illustrator did a great job echoing VLB's style, but also presenting a biography. Loved it.

Love this short picture book bio of one of my favorite author illustrators. Often overlooked now, her classic tales will never go out of fashion in my library.

Strong biography of a classic children's author love how the story captures how she used imagination to do her art.

This is a delightful children’s picture book biography of Virginia Lee Burton. She wrote several of our favorite picture books like Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, Choo Choo, and The Little House.

This brief biography is beautifully written and the illustrations are well done also. It tells the story of a mom who wrote stories about big machines for her two young sons...and then decided to share those stories with the world. .

I had been putting this off because I wasn't sure I wanted to read a book about Virginia Lee Burton. However, I ended up really enjoying this one. The pictures are better than the text, in my opinion. However, I think the text in the book will be more appealing to kids. I am not sure they will always want lots of facts about the life of the character. It does seem to center men a bit in a story about a woman. I am clearly conflicted. The pictures are just great though. You can feel the movement.
