This is a beginning book and honestly I don't think there was much here. I read a lot of young readers to my kids and I was bored with this one.

A kid is trying to go to sleep in his apartment building and he wonders what the noise above him is and each floor does the same thing, all the way up to the grumpy old man.

I have enjoyed Mac Bennett's stuff before, but I can't say this impressed me. It's too simple for the kids so I didn't read it to them.

Going up floor by floor, we discover what is making noise above us. Bright, vivid illustrations and lots of opportunities for kids to guess what is making the next noise. A great group read aloud for preschoolers.

Fun read aloud for working on predictions and rhyming sounds with younger readers.

What's going on above this sleeping kid? Visit a high rise apartment with all kinds of sounds. Try to guess what they are! Are there animals? Dancers? What's going on?! Have fun guessing what you will find above each floor.

Funny-ish, but not Barnett's best. A great read-aloud and interactively verbal book, though!

A great book about the things that people get into on one evening in a tall apartment building. You'll be happy you don't live there.

Quite delightful. Story begins on the endpapers, love the cumulative effect.

Boy can I relate! Reminded of that lease I signed when I was sandwiched between a gamer and a musician. There was rarely a quiet night that year.

It sure is a noisy night in this apartment building! Each resident can hear the neighbors above them, but can't see what is happening. Read this story and try to guess who is dancing, singing, and keeping everyone awake!

I really enjoyed the interactive components of this story. The pictures provide clues to what is happening on each subsequent floor of an apartment building, and the kids loved trying to guess while I read it aloud. Some of the clues were less clear, but that made the guessing more fun. Fun storytime choice, but not great for repeated readings.
