*I'm not going to give you the whole 'what this book is about' blurb - you can read that elsewhere.

1. This reads like a super cheesy 90’s cult classic movie. Think of a voodoo version of ‘True Romance’ complete with zombies eating brains. Sounds kinda weird, right? But also AWESOME. I was so entertained! I love when an author writes in a way that makes it effortless for my brain to play the movie version of what I’m reading, as I’m reading. Nathan has an enjoyable and easy writing style that is so weirdly fun to ‘watch’. Side note – apparently there are people who can’t visualize what they’re reading in this way…I’m flabbergasted!

2. In this book, we follow a soap-opera level mother-daughter relationship and I was 100% convinced I knew who the ‘bad guy’ of the relationship was for 95% of the book. As things were slowly revealed, I realized I had been wrong the whole time. Not that there’s any ‘good guy’ in this book at all; except maybe poor old Zeb. Everyone else is kinda fucked up, but that means a cast of incredibly entertaining and over the top individuals that honestly just made this book so freaking fun. A literary masterpiece it is not (I’m sorry, Nathan!) but I had such a great time reading this one – it was exactly what I needed.

3. If you’re looking for a ridiculous good time, nothing too deep, nothing that takes a ton of thinking, just sex, drugs, and action rolled into a nostalgic cult-film feeling – I highly recommend Love Potion #666!

Thank you to the author for providing a review copy.

For fans of: B movies, murderous couples, comedic horror
I had such a great time with this book! I read it in two sittings. Having read The Comfy-Cozy Nihilist, I was already a fan of Nathan D. Ludwig. This short novel expanded on the wit I loved so much reading the collection. Love Potion #666 is so clever and funny. If you don't write sex scenes like Mr. Ludwig, I don't want to read them.

Leanna is released from prison and is hell bent on getting some revenge on her mom. Their relationship has been strained for some time and Leanna now has the opportunity to get even. Her plan to cash in on the contents of her mom’s purple pouches might just work out. Or just the opposite…

This story is triple dipped in crazy from beginning to end! The drama between Leanna and Teena is something else. Watching all of this unfold was like a train wreck. You just had to keep reading to see what was coming next. Never a dull moment that is for sure.

Ludwig did an excellent job with Leanna. She is hard core, rude and doesn’t mess around. A bad ass character. She was totally captivating to me and for sure will remain a favorite character of mine.

This was a fast paced read that I really enjoyed. Very gripping and lots of action! I NEEDED to know how this would end. The twists towards the end amped up the story and had me racing even faster through the pages. Brilliant work by Ludwig! I see this one in my top reads for this year. Just wow!
