I read this for VCE literature in 2021. I liked the back and forth banter between characters such as Jo and Helen. The significance of the times was explored through various themes of poverty, class, pregnancy and homosexuality. I liked Geof the best as well as Jo.

I find it hard to read plays but this was absolutely engrossing. Loved it! Would recommend the film too which is a brilliant adaptation. If you like the smiths a lot of this will be familiar :)
