Great book, excellent and original, dynamic story.
I was a little thrown off as I got pneumonia and moved while reading this so I lost a little of the train. There was also a little too much melodrama at the very very end but these things are forgivable.
When I think back to this book I had a great time reading it.

Good reading. Fast paced with and abundance of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. Has friendships and backstory enough to make you want to read more! Odelia Grey reminds me a great deal of Steohanie Plum. Fun series!

This was a good second installment in the Odelia Grey series. I still love how Jaffarian writes Odelia’s character - although it seemed to me that Odelia was slightly less sassy in this book. It was also a more somber read than the first book in the series, but I think it’s setting up the rest of the series well. I love - more than anything else - Odelia’s morality and honest reaction to challenging events. It seems very realistic.

I also enjoyed the ending - it was satisfying enough but also ambiguous enough to provide a good lead into book 3.

Oh how I've missed Ms. Odelia Grey. I read the first novel in this series as an ARC when I was much younger and loved it. This book had the same feeling for me and more. I lived the drama, the twists, the intermingling of personal and mysterious. I can't wait to pick up the next one and find out what trouble she gets up to next!

This one was a bit trickier for Odelia to solve ... too many suspects! I still like Odelia but I don't like some of the choices she made while investigating this as well as in her personal life. Not going to give up on her yet since there are quite a few books in this series. She has moxie and a big heart but needs to not be afraid to trust it and herself.

I didn't care for this one as much as the first one. The plot, in which Odelia investigates the murder of a client she barely knew, just didn't seem feasible to me. I didn't get drawn into the book and barely skimmed the last half just to get it over with. I'll put it down to sophomore slump, as I am interested in reading the next book in the series and hopefully it'll pick up a bit.

I didn't like this one quite as much as the first one. But that is just my opinion.
