What a fun story! This was a contemporary romance about a teacher who just broke up with her boyfriend and a military pilot. They were really suited for each other and strived for a healthy relationship - which I was grateful for. There were a few scenes where the writing wasn't the same as the rest, which was weird, but it was overall written quite well.

Thanks to the publisher for providing the book via NetGalley!

You want a quick easy read that’s an adorable romance? This is it! The characters weren’t without their struggles and I could totally relate to the main characters (Paige) over analyzing. It’s probably because I was married pretty young that I always say you have to be a little crazy to fall in love and get married because I don’t know how else it can happen otherwise. So I stories that remind me of that.

When Paige Hall catches her boyfriend cheating on her, she decides she is done with the dating scene. This all changes for Paige when she almost literally has a run-in with Captain Jake Summers while at the grocery store. Jake and Paige click right from the start but with his crazy career and her insecurities left over from her last relationship they hit multiple roadblocks to their HEA.

I fell in love with characters right from the start. From Paige's obsession with all things Jane Austen, to Jake's respect and love for the women in his life there wasn't a single character that I didn't identify with at some point in the story. There are some stories that strike you in the heart and stary with you, and this is one of those.

Chalon Linton has a powerful way of connecting real emotion to her stories. There were many times while reading that I had to sit the book down and just feel the emotions that a scene provoked in me. Paige learning to trust after a heartbreak, her learning to grow to appreciate and understand her mother more. Jake's dedication to his job and his family. These were all so relatable to me that I can't wait to read what Chalon writes next!

I won in a goodreads giveaway. New author for me. I loved the story. Very realistic for a young christian and her journey through dating. She gets her heart broken so it takes time to trust. We see the struggle and how things go. I would have liked to have seen an epilogue a year later to see how things ended up, other then that, I really enjoyed the story.

Flying In Love by Chalon Linton is a Christian contemporary Air Force romance.

Paige Hall is a speech therapist at an elementary school in California with a strong faith in God, a supportive if somewhat nosy family, and a great boyfriend. Life couldn’t be better! That is until Paige walks in on her great boyfriend kissing another girl. Obviously Paige is upset and breaks up with him vowing never to fall so hard for a guy again. Deciding to go grocery shopping across town to avoid running into her ex, Paige literally runs into Captain Jake Summers, a pilot for the U.S. Air Force. Jake insists on taking Paige to dinner to apologize for almost running her over in the parking lot. That dinner becomes the first of many dates, but as Jake and Paige grow closer they are faced with challenges that have the potential to make or break them. Especially when their challenges have Jake doubting his faith in God. Will Jake turn to Paige and God and rely on their strength to overcome the monumental blow life dealt him? Or will his grief and pain cause him to lose Paige forever?

Chalon Linton does a fabulous job writing relatable christian stories. The challenges Paige and Jake face are common enough that if you haven’t experienced something similar in your own life, you probably know someone who has. I love that Paige and Jake cope with their challenges differently but are still able to provide the support that the other person needs, even if it’s hard. I have noticed that in most romance novels when one of the main characters is hurting the other main character will rush to their side in a very knight and shining armor fashion and save them, but that is not always what people need when they are struggling.

I found that these characters Chalon Linton created felt so real, their weaknesses, strengths, challenges, reactions, and coping mechanisms are so easy to relate to. In the end Paige and Jake taught me that everyone faces challenges differently and it is important to listen to the people we love so we can best serve them and that it is better to respect other people’s boundaries than try to rush in and fix things.

Flying In Love is such a sweet romance. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting considering I read it after reading Fly Home To Me, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. If you enjoy Christian romance, clean romance, contemporary romance, and characters that are easy to relate to you should definitely check out Flying In Love and Fly Home to Me by Chalon Linton.

I basically read this is one day and I have lots of thoughts. I couldn’t put it down and there were some sweet swoony scenes but I wanted more. More dialogue! The swoony scenes were being told to us which drastically cuts out the emotion. Goodness I feel like I shouldn’t need to even address that in a romance. This book is just under 200 pages so there could be more depth in the scenes.

This is a plot based book. The continuous telling/not showing made it hard to connect with Paige. It’s just a list of everything that happened to her. We hardly get full scenes with dialogue WITH Jake. Paige’s very abbreviated summary is ‘we said this, then did this’. Most of her full dialogues are with her family or best friend. I kept reading to know how it ends and there is some grief, from a parent dying, but towards the end with the 3rd Act breakup I was getting more frustrated in Paige.
✈️
I own the next book and am excited to read it. I liked this book but I expected a little more.

Flying In Love is one of the sweetest, most sincere, most tender romances I've read in a long time. Skillfully penned, the layered characters take up residence firmly in your heart, and watching these two broken-but-delightful people fall in love will leave that same heart sighing happily. I alternated between grinning and brushing away a few tears ... but mostly grinning. Highly recommended!

This was a good read. A little too "Hallmark Channel Movie" vibe for me though. The female MC was a too needy for my liking, and the male MC was a little too sensitive. Sensitivity is great and all, but I wanted more from him I guess? All in all it was a good read and I did feel the need to stay up late and finish it. Which is a good sign of a good story.

This was such a fantastic book, and I am so excited that it is the start to a new series! It was a sweet, slow love story with the funnest meet-cute.

The author does a great job of creating realistic characters with realistic flaws and plots, but without losing that romantic excitement that a good romance novel has.

This book dealt with some difficult subjects, and I felt they were really well done. The topics were thoroughly explored without taking over the plot and as the reader I felt the characters' pain. I also really enjoyed the peek into military life.

The ending was adorably sweet and just left me feeling so content and happy. Can't wait for the next book!
