Beautiful pictures & a lovely poem by Bilbo as he prepares to depart middle earth.

Quick read to end Bilbo’s story and bring an end to Lord of the Rings. Perfect for any Tolkien fan.

The perfect way to conclude the series. Short, with beautiful drawings, and very emotional mood.

4* - Nothing crazy here, just a little book for a little Hobbit who did big things. It's a short song about Bilbo's final journey. The illustrations are gorgeous though, and personally I love the imagery of the taking a trip to the next life. ♥
The picture book qualification is debateable. It looks like one and kind of reads like one, but it's more than that. So that that as you will.

This book is literally a picture book of the verse from Bilbo’s walking song that has changed over the course of the books and the events, the verse being sung in Rivendell when the hobbits return victorious in the end of The Return of The King, and it could also be interpreted as a picture book of Bilbo’s adventures in The Hobbit (There And Back Again), but I loved it!

Väldigt bra dikt från Tolkien om Bilbo när han ska lämna Midgård och segla väster ut till Valinors stränder.

Nice illustrations with detailed endnotes to accompany a short song. Good for LOTR fans and collectors.

By itself, the poem would merit three stars, but the illustrations are of such a superb quality, I had to bump up the rating. There's a great juxtaposition of scenes from Bilbo's original quest to the Lonely Mountain and his time in Rivendell - plus he looks so darn adorable.
