I always enjoy historical fiction that takes place in Canada. I would have liked a bit more background into the history than what was written as I had to jointly read a few Wikipedia pages.
My only major criticism would be, why did Edwards confront Child the way he did? Wouldn't it have been better to wait until he had his evidence more fully in place? However, it is a first book and often it takes time to work out the kinks so I will read more and see how the life of Edwards' progresses.
