this was GOOD!! took a while to get into and i was pretty bored for the first third but it came together fairly quickly and it tied up SO well in the end. i also loved the multiple plot twists and didn’t guess a single one

Book two of The Thursday Murder Club starts with Elizabeth’s ex-husband, Douglas, returning and asking Elizabeth for help. A middleman for illicit deals is missing $20 million in diamonds (which he believes Douglas has). Meanwhile Ibrahim has been mugged by local small time drug dealers that most likely will go free.

What I liked: this book has more humor than book one and I found myself chuckling especially in the first few chapters. I loved how the characters developed from book one and you can sense the friendships getting deeper.

What didn’t work for me: I felt like the end dragged a bit and the Douglas plot line felt a little over the top.

Who should read it: I do think this is a series that builds on previous books, so I’d probably start at book one. You enjoy cozy mysteries and funny out there (but relatable) characters.

Schwächer als das erste Buch, könnte an der Sprache liegen, habe das erste Buch auf Deutsch gelesen.
Generell war es zwischen durch eher langatmig, passend zu den Charakteren die ältere Menschen sind.
