This is a hugely underrated book - the story is great, the mystery is complex and clever, the main character is engaging, and the setting - 1920s Harlem - vividly realized. The author is a Black woman and brings a much-needed perspective to the whole genre of historical fiction! I look forward to reading more about Lanie Price!
