I’d really recommend this! Real policy recommendations and a very positive perspective on our ability to rise up and take action against cute climate emergency.

This book showed me how little I remember from high school history. I learned so much about what Canada has done (and could do again) to respond to global emergencies. It gave me more hope for the potential of the Canadian government to act quickly and effectively in the face of deep crisis. As a pacifist, it was a bit awkward to use war as an example of beneficial mobilization, but Klein takes pains to tease out that apparent contradiction. This book is long and filled with facts… I’m glad I was reading it little by little with a group, to give me a chance to digest it.
