I received a copy in return for an honest review.

While I received the anniversary version for free, I bought the original version. Missy has secrets and isn't quite sure who she can trust with them. But she is sure the Rio, the man-whore, may not be the best choice to bare her soul to. At least her head thinks so even as her heart believes something totally different. But when agendas change and traitors are behind every corner, Missy has no choice but to allow Roi to know at least some of the truth. However has she waited too long to give him the knowledge he needs to protect her, him and their friends? I loved Roi. He was kick-ass but hid it well beneath an irreverent personality. He hasn't been able to crack Missy shell but he is determine that she see his is more than his reputation. I loved that Ms. Roth gave us two strong characters in Missy and Roi. Missy was determined to do what is right even if it costs her life but Roi is equally determine that she live. The push pull as Roi and Missy learn to trust each other was well articulated. This story is action packed from beginning to end and well worth your time!

Better than the first,as far as plots go. I wish they didn’t have so much miscommunication on how they truly felt about each other, seems weird in respect to what we know is ‘cannon’ in regards to mated pairs. I am looking forward to Green’s story so I am here for book three, but so do hope these relationships ‘flesh’ out better the farther along we go.

I wanted to love this book as much as the first, but the energies between Missy and Roi in the middle part were too confusing for me. The beginning and end of the book are great, the middle is a bit muddy. I already read Book 3 though, and it definitely gets better again, Mandy M Roth is finding her voice throughout the books. Actually, I already started book 4 and will steadily make my way through the series! That is one of the things I love, having a series with many books to read where characters from previous books also always play a part. Family!
