There are lots of connections with the Sisterhood novels here, which is good because the formula worked so well the first time. Plus it was nice to see some of the old characters and see how the Sisterhood impacted the town. The girls here are less connected, but their stories still work well together and it gives a different take on friendship than the Sisterhood novels. I'm not sure I got as attached to Polly, Jo and Alma as I did to Lena, Tibby, Carmen and Bridget in their first book, but it is hard to say after 4 books and 2 movies with the Sisterhood. Overall I enjoyed the characters and their individual stories and I will read more as they are published.

I have been following this series for a while. I am so curious with the whole characters development. I like the moral messages from this story. Miss Brashares done a good job writing her story.

Definitely not on par with the rest of the Sisterhood series, but not too bad. I received it as a free book, so I'm glad I didn't pay for the hardcover that I have.

Yeah, girl power! This book about 3 soon-to-be freshmen in H.S. was actually kind of inspiring. Though I am sad at how they turned Effie's character into a major bee-yotch. I kind of liked her in the Sisterhood books.

I think if I was in the right age group for this book I would have absolutely love it. I still really love YA books, but I don't get much out of them any more unless they're aimed at older teens rather than the younger teen audience this one is aimed at. It was still a light, entertaining read and I found myself a bit attached to the characters at the end as well.
