I really liked it. I loved Pixit and at the end, I wanted to finish it but I didn’t want to finish it. I still miss living in Aloria with Mina and Pixit.

Another one I read at my 8 year old son’s request, and this is such a sweet little fantasy novel. High enough stakes to keep it emotionally compelling but also simple enough for kids to actively engage with. Also, Pixit is adorable. I think all parents would wish for a Pixit for their child.

Mina is the shy, quiet girl who stays in the background, overlooked by everyone, even her family. And she's comfortable with that. She doesn't like the spotlight, being the center of attention. But everything changes when she bonds with a lightning beast and then discovers a terrible secret. One that many powerful people would be very upset if it were revealed. Can Mina find her voice, make herself be heard, and tell a truth that must be told?

I'm a grown woman, but my gosh, this book spoke to me so much. I was that shy, quiet girl in the background, still am to an extent, and would've loved to have read about a heroine like Mina when I was a kid. She's so relatable. It was nice to have a quiet girl be the brave one in the story. To show that you can be quiet, yet courageous at the same time.

This was a beautiful book. One that celebrates being true to yourself. Accepting yourself for exactly who you are. Learning that it's okay to be different and realizing that, sometimes, that's exactly what the world needs.

A delightful tale about how to overcome you fears and do the right thing!

The cover that I received was beautiful! I love that you don't see the Mina's face on the cover so I could imagine that I was her throughout the story. I would hope this would appeal to children in almost the same way.

There was great character development. You get attached to Pixit, the baby at the beginning of the story. You are waiting just as anxiously as Mina for his egg to hatch.

I would recommend this book for fans of fantasy and strong female characters.

Thank you NetGalley.

Oh wow I just loved everything about this book! I paarticularly loved watching Mina grow into herself and accept that she’s different from who her parents think she is and different from the other kids in her school and that’s okay. And honestly who doesn’t love a lightning dragon/puppy?! The only thing I felt a little let down by in this book is that for some reason I expected the fact that the storm beasts lost their powers aafter a few years to play a larger role in the plot, but this is such a tiny thing, really. It’s a cool worldbuilding fact and I bbuilt it into more in my head than it was. But on the whole this was a great book. I mean, did I mention lightning dragon/puppy? How could it not be great?!
