Horror isn't entirely my thing, but I liked the setup here, and the writing is definitely atmospheric.

What a really creepy and mysterious horror short story!! All My Darkest Impulses is the first book in the "House of Crows" series and is about a haunted mansion that holds dark memories and fears of the people who inhabited the place in the past. Since this is the beginning of the story it does end on an abrupt cliffhanger. Now I need to read the second book!!🖤🖤🖤🖤

My rating: 3⭐️⭐️⭐️ it was ok… nothing mind blowing and not really my thing. The writing was good though so RATED UP!!!

I have been having a terrible time of books lately… all sorts of 1 star trash has been flowing my way and DNF city … so I decided like I often do that I will go for a palette cleansing short story to break my cycle of crapola. Welllll… that didn’t really work out for me in this instance…

While this story will appeal to many - I am just not a fan of supernatural stuff. AND its my own fault because I really liked Lisa Unger’s short story Unknown Caller (check that one out) so I dove into this for comfort… without checking the synopsis and reviews… stupid mistake.

I am not going to rate it down though because I didn’t like the supernatural element… it was OKAYYYY but the writing was very good. I really do need to try Lisa Unger full length… what to choose what to choose…

This one is the first book in four piece serial called House of Crows… now… I doubt I will go back.. its on a cliffhanger and I am not that keen BUT as I said that is due to it being in the supernatural realm… I don’t really know what is happening but there is a slender man vibe that I am just not into… some people will really love that…so for those of you who love this sort of stuff… get stuck into it… it is on Kindle Unlimited and quite well written.

Now for those playing along at home… never fear I did get my 5 star winner… that will be my next review

This was a haunting tail, I wouldn’t say it was scary but it is a fucked up story (in the best of ways). I listened to the four separate short stories on Audible. It was kind of nice having it broken up into four parts like that. The narrators did a good job, I liked that there was a different narrator for each character. Definitely recommend if you want a short spooky story.

Maybe it is just going to take me another book to get into this series? Kind of liked it when you didn't have to follow the storyline through multiple Amazon Originals. However, the dark scenery is pretty nice. We'll see where this goes...
