I really don't click with Gibson's style. I can't quite put my finger on what it is...I can take a step back and appreciate that her poems are good, and her voice is very powerful. But I dunno...I think all the jarring juxtaposition and confusing metaphors don't make much sense to me. Some are better than others I suppose but overall, as much as I've tried, can't get into her stuff.

I predict a lot of rereads in the future.

This is a more fleshed out version of some of the work in Take Me with you. Powerful and moving...

Still a great collection of Andrea's poetry, but I definitely was more drawn to the poems in the first collection.

Yes I watched Andrea Gibson poems on youtube and then dropped heavy hints that it might be nice to get books for my birthday.... and I did. I think I might be re-reading these quite a lot. Wonderful

So guess what: if I ever have my own team,
I'm picking everyone first,
even the worst kid
and the kid with the stutter
like a skipping record
because I know all of us are scratched,
even if you can't hear it when we speak.
