Brady McKenzie is the sheriff of Starlight Cove, and his job is to deal with all the problems and nuisances the town runs into - especially newcomer Luna Lancaster, who’s more trouble than everything else combined. To make matters worse, Brady can’t seem to get the crazy, bouncy beauty out of his head, despite all her misdemeanors. It’s all he can do to stay on top of his job and help his siblings out with the family business, which is steadily going under. He doesn’t need the distraction.
This was my first book by Brighton Walsh, and I was pleasantly surprised! I found myself enchanted by the small town of Starlight Cove, especially its’ residents. There wasn’t a single character in this novel that I didn’t like, which is an extremely rare find for me. The banter between Brady and Luna was absolutely hilarious, and I adored Brady’s relationship with his brothers and sister. There were so many moments where I literally laughed out loud, and even though the book had the slightest hint of angst, I feel like it was generally lighthearted.
Brady. This man is determined for everything to be done by the book, which in my opinion, is part of the reason why he and Luna initially clashed - but it’s also the reason why they work so well. I admire his devotion to his family and the way he’s protective of Luna, even when he’s annoyed by her. Luna. I think that Luna’s had a hard life; even though her parents weren’t technically abusive, they did leave her alone a lot, and I think that having to care for herself from such a young age was a huge part of shaping her personality. I admire Luna’s ability to stay calm in most situations, her sass, and her spontaneity. All in all, I’d definitely recommend!

I started reading Possessive Heart as a standalone and decided to try the whole series because of how much I enjoyed that one. It was a good read, but very predictable a few chapters in. Really easy read, great banter between the FMC and MMC, but not my favorite in the series.

For the most part, this was pretty good. I skimmed probably half of it bc some parts just weren't necessary to understand the overall story. I'm here for the smut. But, saying that, I liked our characters and the romance. Was it a little insta-lusty and dramatically over the top/excessive with the "he/she is SO HOT, I'm hard/wet every time I'm near him/her?" Yes. But I liked their maturity and how the big issue that tore them apart (always need one of these in romances) wasn't that big of an issue and was resolved in like half a page. Pretty refreshing.
Overall, a light and fluffy read with some heavy heat and tastefully erotic moments. The next books in the series should be just as good. A really great introduction to the McKenzie family.
Happy reading, Goodreads fiends.

for me
This book was good. I love his nickname for her- lawbreaker. It’s just so cute. I didn’t like how near the end it was kind of rushed and everybody was like yes Luna you’re right after .2 seconds. I also wish to see more emotional connection between the couple. Besides the talk about each of their parents they didn’t talk. They fought or had sex. But whatever. The book was good but average. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t super special. I am curious about the other couple and could see reading the other books. Overall it was good, average 3/5
