I honesty didn't know I was going to love this so much. I love the Tales from Wild Space characters and the stories. It stays true to characters and manages to tell cool stories. Also, like Indiana Jones Adventures from Dark Horse, it's perfect for kids to read. I'm excited for this line of comics!

Did not finish for two reasons: 1) was much more kid lit then I feel like reading right now and 2) the Hoopla reader would not zoom in on individual text boxes, so full page and double page spreads were impossible to read.

Star Wars Adventures volume 1 is a short compilation of several stories that take place at varying times and places in the Star Wars universe. I picked this up hoping to find a story about Finn. He does appear in a few of the illustrations at the front and back of the book, but is not featured in the comics themselves or even mentioned by name. The main story here is about Rey rescuing a junk collector from an art thief. There are a couple other stories which highlight characters from the original Star Wars films, like Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
This was cute and fun to read, but it would have been much better with Finn!

A fun little read, Star Wars Adventures is, undoubtedly, a kids' comic. It's a little silly at times, and the stories are all fairly inconsequential stand-alones. The first volume contains a number of nice stories, and the art is delightful.

These comics tell cute stories about the Star Wars extended universe using many of our favorite characters. They’re very clearly aimed for kids, but even then it feels like an after school special with some educational lesson sprinkled in. The different art styles are cute and I really do think kids new to Star Wars would enjoy this book. Just lower your expectations if you’re an adult.
