The Michael Moorcock Library - Elric, Vol. 6: The Bane of the Black Sword adapts the Michael Moorcock story of the same name.

No two ways about it, this is my least favorite Elric adaptation so far. The Roy Thomas dialogue is fine. The art is split between Mary Mitchell and Mark Pacella. Mary's art is a step down from most artists in the series so far but it's still serviceable. She's able to maintain the feel of the series.

I think this was probably Mark Pacella's first gig and does it ever show. Some of the art is decent, some is even good, but there's a heap of stuff that looks pretty amateurish as well. Uneven is a good word for it. The figure work is good but the faces are all over the place, ranging from good to below average.

If I didn't have a complete set of these Titan Elric books, I'd probably trade this in at half price books next time I go.
