Bullet Review:

Fantastic! One of the best comics I've read! Velvet is great - people who love James Bond movies will really get a kick out of this, but those of us who aren't can still appreciate Brubaker's superb storytelling and character creation coupled with the fantastic art.

Highest praise. Highly recommended.

I read this whole series a year ago or something but I gave the omnibus 5 stars, so I'm going back and listing the 3 TPBs as Read, 5 stars for consistency.

very cool story. loved the colors, the transitions and the plot. Brubaker has such a viral feel to his writing. His characters are so alive, and so full of feeling and normalcy, which is quirky in a spy story.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. A fun little spy romp with a noir feel and lots of Little twists and turns. Also love to see a woman in 40s kicking ass.

I once had a great twitter conversation with Ed Brubaker about the politics of his Captain America run (pre-Winter Soldier reveal). He was gracious about my questions. We discussed interpretations of his work; I realized in real time, writers are not privileged critics of their own works. Anyway, I think he's a terrific writer and I've always loved Steve Epting.

LOVE. Velvet is such a kick ass character. The art is fabulous. The story is intriguing. It's basically everything I could want in a crime comic. Highly recommend.

Good noir spy story. Loved the art and how cliffhangers on one page were not resolved till the bottom of the next, to build tension.

Great artwork and a great story. Reminded me of Miss Moneypenny finally being the hero in James Bond. Velvet is supposed to be a middle aged woman, which I think is not really reflected in the artwork so that was disappointing.
